Well it appears that the Tooth Fairy has been sighted flying around the Lilly house this night as Rowan declared with much excitement, "My tooth came out with the pretzel!!!" What is the going rate for a first tooth anyway?

I'm notoriously bad at keeping New Year's resolutions. That doesn't stop me, however, from making them. Here are this year's very modest resolutions: - Avoid gaining more than 10 pounds this year. Losing would be great but let's try little steps...
- Make at least one entry each month into the site.
- Eliminate one source of family debt.
- Reduce clutter in house by a noticeable margin.
We'll see how these go... | | |

Opening in the last week of 2007, Disney's "National Treasure 2" is in my opinion a pleasant revisit of the first movie. Like all such movies if you liked the first movie you'll likely like this one; but as is common, you will likely find this one to be less lustrous.
The premise is as follows: Our hero's family honor is tarnished when a document fragment comes to light suggesting that an ancestor was actually the mastermind responcible for the Lincoln assasination. In order to clear his name, he must track down a mesoamerican treasure trove. If you can ignore the final resting place of this fabulous treasure you will have lots of fun...

Things have been very busy, hectic, scary over the last few months and I forgot about updating the site. Apologies to all for my forgetful pen. Let me try to catch up.
Shortly after my post in June telling about the arrival of Maggie the kitten, a second new kitten arrived by plane in the form of a Japanese Bobtail male kitten named Femto! It turns out that Maggie and Femto (a.k.a. The Toe-boy) are almost polar opposites in temperment. Where Maggie is shy and retiring, Femto is boistrous and testosterone laden. He is especially fond of lavishing affection in the middle of the night by licking any exposed piece of flesh he may come accross! After several weeks of this "Cat burgers" were beginning to sound tasty!
Then he started trying to mount Maggie... Even though they are only 3 months apart in age these attempts conjured images of dwarves mating with giants. Poor Femto would latch onto a very puzzled Maggie's scruff and then be thwarted by the "Holy Land" sitting way out of reach! For and example of comparative scale look here.
Now that the Toe-boy has been "nicked" he is finally beginning to calm down somewhat . As an aside, his fur is also beginning to become quite soft!
In August Barb Anderson and the Lilly clan went on vacation and spent a marvelous week in sunny Nags Head, NC! Other than being extraordinarily hot, the weather was absolutely perfect. Rowan, while spending most of the trip afraid of the surf, still managed to have great fun. She had her hair done in corn rows and engaged in shopping and crafts. I enjoyed myself hugely as well. The only great sadness for me was releasing my mother's ashes in a remote area of the beach. Thinking about my Mom and Dad brought back a flood of sweet memories of vacationing on the Outer Banks when I was young. Alas, though I searched, I wasn't able to find the place we used to stay at. It turns out that it had been torn down some 3 seasons ago to make way for new housing... Ah well, such is progress... A few of the several hundred photos I took there are in the photo album here !

Urban Shaman, written by C. E. Murphy, is the first of a series of books following the exploits of one Joanne Walker. She starts out as a garage mechanic for the Seattle PD but after an encounter of the almost fatal kind with the supernatural becomes aware of the fact that her Irish and indian heritage has gifted her with the gifts of powerful shaman. Yeah, I know. It sounds like a bit much and reads a little like you are watching someone's roleplaying game. But as I went along I actually found myself enjoying the story! It was a literary potatochip. In fact, I really couldn't eat just one and wound up getting the next two books as well.
Can't say it was good literature, but it was enjoyable.
