When first I heard this album, I as per my habit, I simply listened to it without actually listening to the lyrics. The presentation is simple and beautiful in a folk style that made me feel as if I was in the 70's again. Then as I absorbed the lyrics I began to feel a sweet sadness. The lyrics aren't terribly complex but the do the job. This is one of those albums I like to listen to on a rainy day with the head phones. Pink Moon is an album by Nick Drake first released in 1972. This was Drake's final album and is arguably the best of his work. While short (a little over 30 minutes) Drake manages construct a collection of songs that transported me to some quiet forrest glade in my mind. Once there, it touched me with a sweet melancoly that made me feel 17 again. What makes this album so compelling in my opinion is its simplicity. Drake uses only his acoustic guitar and perhaps a little piano and finally his distinctive breathy voice to captivate.
