While at Lakeside Erica and I chanced to see Al Gore's documentary "An Inconvenient Truth".  Dubbed by a friend of ours as one of the most powerful Power Point displays you'll ever see, The movie is a mixture of overdubbed comentary by Vice-President Gore, video segments from his Environmental speeches, and video and photographic footage of some of the effects of Global Warming.  

The overall effect is disturbing and compelling.  It highlights how special interests and willful blindness are letting the process of Global warming progress unchecked.  I especially found interesting that when scientific journals are analyzed to determine relative agreement with the conclusions being drawn about our effects on the environment  the studies found NO disagreement!  Where the controversy creeps in is when you look in popular media.  It is there that the FUD (fear uncertainty and doubt)  factor is promoted by groups such as say,, The White House...  

The movie was also not above a little sour grapes about the election.  Whether I agree or not about the Supreme Court decision,  I felt it subtracted a bit from the overall effectiveness of the movie's main point.
